&lt;p&gt;My only really close friend happens to be an extrovert, but still very similar to me. It&#039;s great, because he can express what I&#039;m thinking and I can completely understand what he expresses. In terms of Myers Briggs, we also balance each other in Thinking vs. Feeling--I can be objectively rational for him, and he can encourage me to go with my gut feelings on occassion. Essentially, it seems a good friend is similar enough to understand you, but opposite enough to balance your mindset.&lt;/p&gt;
